PAU SABATER
Founder & Owner
Pau is a passionate human and a life enthusiast. He has traveled the world on and off the bike for many years and still wants to keep exploring new and fascinating destinations. He loves spending quality time in each location, getting to know the locals, their traditions, and gastronomy in full depth, to then be able to share it with his guests and adventurers.
He considers himself a lifelong student and is always learning and studying about topics that fascinate him like philosophy, health, wellness, psychology, business, and more. He is always ready to find a moment for an in-depth conversation about any topic.
Horizons Cycling is only as good as its people
Meet our amazing team.
Content & operations manager
Alba is our local Marie Kondo and word freak. She is the one in charge of putting everything we do into ‘paper’, and the brains behind our social media, always diligent and efficient in her work. An explosion of joy, it is virtually impossible to feel sad around her, and her incredible smile will for sure light up your day. New to the world of cycling but diving in head first, she is ready to climb any professional summits with her trademark passion and cheer. She’s known for sassily making sure everyone around her knows about her world travels.
Lead guide & logistics coordinator
Andreu is one of our most trustworthy guides and mechanics. He has been with Horizons Cycling since the beginning and he’s such a big part of our team. As the engineer and product designer that he is, he will always figure out a quick and effective solution for every issue that may arise during a trip. He is also a very strong cyclist and will encourage you while riding no-handed going up the toughest climb of the day. He is a very professional and loyal guide and leader that you can trust with anything.
Physiotherapist and guide
Maria is one of our greatest collaborators. She is an osteopath and physiotherapist who specializes in high-performance sports. She has done marvels to improve our guests’ well-being in the past, not only for the trip’s wear but has helped many to recover and improve from injuries that they had carried for years. On top of her professional skills, she is the kindest and most gentle person you could ever meet, she will always greet you with a beautiful smile and serve you with the greatest intention.
Trip designer & guide
Marco is an Italian living in France, making the most of both worlds. He has been a ski teacher and cycling guide for more than 20 years. He is the embodiment of professionalism and has service flowing through his veins. Always super attentive and encouraging, genuinely kind, he will go out of his way to make your experience absolutely memorable, always with a smile. He is a wine genius so if you are a wine aficionado, make sure to sit next to him at dinner, you will learn so much!
Marketing and design
Marta is as positive as a person gets. She is always looking for the solution and will light up your day no matter what. She coordinates our marketing, design, and web strategy. You might also meet her on a trip behind the camera or telling you about our latest and most exciting destinations. She is a force of nature, always striving to make a difference in the world but also in her immediate surroundings and personal relations.
Photographer
Logan has spent much of his life pursuing both photography and the outdoors, which is what makes him the best person to capture the essence of Horizons Cycling. He is a calm presence that always lights up the mood with a great anecdote or a sarcastic comment. Passionate and a perfectionist about his work, his photography is a fusion of his architectural sensibilities, creative passion, and individual expression. And he has an extraordinary capacity to spark a story beyond the bounds of the captured frame.
Our local guides & experts.

He’s a little quiet but watch out when he speaks; he’s very funny!
Norway & Scandinavia guide
Monica is a strong and ambitious person, and the definition of “wearing many hats”: trained as a chef and as an economist, she splits her time between cycling around her beloved Norway, working as a consultant in hospitality, and even writing a novel! In the 6 years that she has been riding, she has a few exploits in her belt, namely Oslo-Paris, Trondheim-Oslo (with some cross-country skiing in between), and even the Everest. She is a force of nature and a source of inspiration.
Spain guide
Mikel is a very important part of the team. As a logistics coordinator, he will always be where you need him at the exact moment you need him. He is very easygoing, and he will always have what you need ready for you, even before you know you need it. He is from the Basque Country and comes from a family of restaurant owners – he is 5th generation, so the service industry runs in his veins! – and speaks four languages. Deeply in love with his motherland, he will take you on a voyage to the past with his enchanting tales and legends.

A ray of sunshine, an extremely creative person, and a visionary. Clara has a deep knowledge of how food can transform our health and well-being.
